RADWANSKA MAKES FINAL 8

Agnieszka Radwanska has made it to the final 8 of the ongoing Korea Open by securing win over Estrella Cabeza of Spain. Radwanska won the match in the straight sets by 6-2, 6-1.

Radwanska is the top seeded player in this tournament and she was supposed to pull off this game easily. The Polish player did live up to the expectations and knocked out her opponent by playing some fabulous tennis. The match was over in just about an hour.

Talking to the reporters in the post match interview, Radwanska said, “This was the first time I was playing against her and she began quite beautifully. I was not that comfortable in the first couple of games, but, then, I decided to play with a bit more aggression and I managed to put pressure on her.”

Radwanska made an appearance in this tournament for the first time. In the next round, she will take on Vera Dushevina of Russia – and is being backed by express bet to overcome the challenge and make it to the Semi-Finals.

In the second match today, the Czech player Klara Zakopalova was stunned by the local wild card entrant Jang Su Jeong.

Jeong was down by one set at one point of time, but, she showed great calmness under pressure and ended up pulling off a fantastic win. The final score line was 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 in Jeong’s favour.

In the post match interview, the Korean player said, “The pressure was immense at the start. I was finding it hard to concentrate, but, thanks to my coach who talked to me during the second set and motivated me.”

“I had come into this tournament with the target of securing one win, but, now, I have managed to secure a couple of them. It’s an amazing feeling. I want to thank the spectators from the bottom of my heart for their tremendous support.”
